If you see something you like, but you can't afford it..

Updated: Feb 21, 2020

My Lovely Father once said to me- “Rahwity if you were to walk in a store and you see something you really like, but you decided not to buy it, it should be because you CHOSE not to and NOT because you couldn’t afford to.”

Key word here: *Choice*

I remember that conversation like it was yesterday. 10th grade. In my Nazareth School Uniform on our way back from "TeaRoom"; a famous classic coffee shop in the hearts of 'Piasa' (Addis Ababa, ET)

As always, one word of advice from my dad turns into a conversation about what it means to work hard. To be kind. To Love. To keep God in the center AND what it means to have FAITH. Remembering whose you are! I don’t think I’ve had any conversation with my dad that doesn’t include Faith and God- ever as in the end, it all ties to one thing-Being Godly.

I wish technology then was where it is today because the amount of golden conversations I could have captured on my phone for my future kids, even to share with you y’all 😭🙏🏼 Maybe I will start doing that now :)

Anyway this statement rings in my head every now and then and when it does, it revs my engine in ways I can’t explain. It is very imperative to maximize the opportunities that we have; especially our very precious gift called ✨Life✨ while we lay one brick at a time.

As much as we love saying, YOLO (You Only Live Once)- may that force go to us creating such an incredible life that can simultaneously pour into our family, our church, our community, our country and the world at large.

Happy Sunday Friends!
